In September 2021, Variety reported that a live-action She-Ra project was in development at Amazon, with DreamWorks Animation serving as executive producer. It was revealed last fall that Heidi Schreck signed onto the project as a writer and executive producer. The current logline for the live-action series, which will be the first for the character, describes "an epic fantasy series about an orphaned young woman who leads a revolution to save her planet from annihilation.”
